Ephesians 6:10-14a… 

10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power 11 Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. 12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. 13 Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. 14 Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, 

 

Ephesians 14b-15.

…“with the breastplate of righteousness in place, 15 and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace.” 

 

The function of a warrior’s belt was three-fold

  1. Stabilizes/Strengthens

  2. Secures 

  3. Sets You Free 

 

Proverbs 4:23

Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it. 

 

Philippians 4:7

And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. 

 

3 key weapons against us 

  • Accusation 

  • Condemnation 

  • Guilt 

 

Satan’s False Righteousness

  • Performance Righteousness 

  • Comparison Righteousness 

 

Biblical Righteousness 

IMPUTED RIGHTEOUSNESS

2 Corinthians 5:21

God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God. 

DAILY RIGHTEOUSNESS 

Ephesians 4:26 26

“In your anger do not sin”: Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry, 27 and do not give the devil a foothold. 

 

Shoes of Peace 

Paul equates peace as an essential “stand your ground, take more ground” piece of armor. 

In the Hebrew, shalom means peace. It doesn’t refer to the absence of chaos but an overall deeply entrenched sense of harmony, health and wholeness in the midst of chaos (Priscilla Shirer).

#1 God thank you that even in all of this mess, I am at peace with you.

 

Romans 5:1,2

Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, 2 through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we boast in the hope of the glory of God. 

 

#2 Lord you are my source and you are never empty I will trust in you!

 

Romans15:13

May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. 

 

Philippians 4:4-9

4 Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! 5 Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. 6 Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7 And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. 8 Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things. 9 Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me—put it into practice. And the God of peace will be with you.
