Dr. Charlie & Gina Weir

Lead Pastors

Charlie and Gina met at a city-wide Bible Study in Atlanta known as Metro Bible Study the summer of 1990. Within a year of meeting, they were married and working at a church in East Texas. Gina and Annie share Georgia roots but Charlie was born and raised in New Jersey. As of 2021 Charlie & Gina celebrated 30 years of marriage!  Annie, their daughter, was 9 when they relocated from Atlanta to plant Gateway. She is all grown up now and still very active in the life and leadership at Gateway.

PERSONAL

The Weirs love spending time together as a family although how that time looks has changed over the years. "Charlie, Gina and Annie days” used to look like kicking around town finding anything fun to do together. Now those days look more like “Team Annie” days as the family chips in with Annie’s 2 startup businesses, Elizabeth Events and Living Golden. Charlie spent his growing up years playing all sports but especially loved baseball. Now he enjoys playing golf, watching Georgia Bulldogs Football and everything SEC. Gina enjoys walking, playing with the 2 “grand-dogs” and leading ladies Bible studies. On Saturday’s in the fall you can still find them around a TV watching college football together.

PROFESSIONAL

October 17, 1981, Charlie preached his first sermon in West Orange, NJ. He was only a High School Junior at the time but had already sensed God's call to become a pastor. He has served at 5 churches in his ministry career. From 1993 – 2006  he served at Mount Paran North Church of God in Marietta, GA in the Student Pastor and Missions Pastor roles. In 2007 he, his family and a great team planted Gateway Church in Franklin, TN and became the Lead Pastor.
